Seared Tuna Steaks

Ingredients:
- 2 (6 oz) fresh tuna steaks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and pepper.
- Marinate the Tuna: Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat the Pan: Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over high heat until very hot.
- Sear the Tuna: Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the tuna steaks in the hot skillet. Sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer if desired.
- Sprinkle with Sesame Seeds: If using, sprinkle sesame seeds on both sides of the tuna steaks during the last minute of cooking.
- Serve: Remove from the skillet, slice, and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes:
For best results, use high-quality sushi-grade tuna. You can serve the seared tuna over a salad or with rice for a complete meal.
